C/O POP AND C’N’B AT BERLIN MUSIC WEEK

c/o pop and C’n’B are making an appearance at the pilot edition of the Berlin Music Week. Like last year, they are involved in cooperation and collaboration with the a2n – alltogethernow conference, this time in the form of 2 panels.

The first, on 6 September, is entitled “The role of music conferences, bar camps and meeting points – how to create a good and relevant event.” Ralph H. Christoph (head of strategy, c/o pop), representatives of the other main German music conferences and one representative of India’s Unconvention will discuss the value of conferences and the motivation behind the hosting of this kind of event. The second panel will take place on 7 September when the C’n’B presents “An analysis of the structural crisis of the music industry – where is the web heading?” Speakers including Stephan Benn (VUT) and Stefan Herwig (Dependant Records) will discuss possible economic strategies for the internet in terms of their relevance to the print and music industries.

In another Berlin Music Week event, the three music metropoles Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin have issued an invitation for 9 September to a joint barbecue in the Soda Restaurant of the Kulturbrauerei. The hosts of the event, which is entitled »Germany goes 3-dimensional«, hope to welcome a colourful mixture of industry visitors, music experts, artists, label managers and media representatives. The aim of the gathering is to overcome and abolish traditional divisions in the music industry so as to be able to concentrate core competences, particularly with regard to the German music industry’s international presence, and build up new projects.
We hope to meet you in Berlin this week!

Unter dem Titel MMOI – International Music Industry Gathering veranstalten das MEG Montreal Festival und das  OSHEAGA Music and Arts Festival erstmals eine internationale Festivalkonferenz. c/o pop wird dort u.a. das Projekt Europareise vorstellen. Hier die wichtigsten Informationen:

Montreal, June 15, 2010 – MEG Montreal Festival and OSHEAGA Music and Arts Festival are pleased to announce the launch of their new partnership: MEG Montreal Osheaga International.
After four editions of thriving collaborations, the creation of MMOI represents a restructuring of what our festivals have already been doing for years; hosting the local and international music industry for a series of great events.
As we move closer to the summer of 2010, our two events are uniting resources, know-how, and networks to make Montreal the ultimate destination for industry minds. Throughout four days of events, guests will be invited to share, reflect, and discover.
All MMOI activities and concerts will offer guests, from near and far, a festive and beneficial experience. Thanks to this annual gathering, a network spanning countries and continents will grow, sharing and developing ideas, all the while contributing to Montreal’s cultural output on an international level.
The MMOI Pass will grant access to all MEG Montreal and OSHEAGA concerts, special emerging talent showcases, a roundtable covering major issues being faced by the industry, and a dedicated meeting area in the heart of Parc Jean-Drapeau (during OSHEAGA’s two days at this site).
This first edition of MMOI will lay the foundation for future years, as it grows to find itself among the premier music industry events in the world, simultaneously promoting and developing Montreal as a cultural hub. Ticketing: MMOI Pass: $200, On sale at: www.mmoi.ca
